Job Title: Sound Technician
Description
Founded in 2000 by world renowned Art Director and Producer Franco Dragone, the “Franco Dragone Entertainment Group” designs, produces and puts together live shows combining post-modern dancing, music, circus arts and special effects.

Since it was created, the “Franco Dragone Entertainment Group” has garnered the admiration of critics and spectators alike and has enjoyed phenomenal successes with, among others, “Le Rêve”, Céline Dion: “A New Day”.

For its new water show in Macau, Franco Dragone Entertainment Group is looking for a Sound Technician:


1. Description:
Reporting to the Head of Sound at the ‘Dragone Theatre’ Macau

2. Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible / Accountable
• Responsible for working as a part of the Dragone Sound team to: maintain and operate sound, video and communication equipment in a professional, safe and consistent manner for the Dragone Theatre
• The incumbent may also assist as the secondary FOH operator, monitors operator, underwater systems operator, show communication & theatre video system configurations and repairs as well as wireless systems operation and maintenance
• Operate sound & related equipment in a professional and consistent manner for performances, artist training, and maintenance operations as requested
• Inspect and maintain all sound, video & communication equipment systems; update maintenance, inspection & inventory data as directed
• Maintain a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures; participate in all required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training; ensure a clean working environment at all operational & workshop areas
• Work with other departments in developing rescue and safety strategies
• Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance and evening show performances
• Develop a thorough knowledge of all Sound Department equipment specific to the production in order to operate it correctly and accurately
• Participate in special projects, including the installation of new sound show elements as directed & any off-site production related tasks
• Perform other tasks and carry out projects as assigned by the Head of Sound
Job Requirements
3. Qualifications:

Education
• College diploma in a related field

Experience
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a Sound Technician in live stage professional performance

Other Skills
• Strong computer knowledge required, including Mac OSX & Windows XP systems
• Proficiency in operating and repairing audio equipment including Meyer, LCS, RME, Yamaha Digital, RF, Telex, Sennheiser, Video/CCTV systems, & Riedel communications systems; electronics training and audio equipment repair skills an asset
• Ability to solder and repair electronic equipment to a reliable standard
• Ability to swim or to be taught to swim; scuba diving qualification an asset.
• Fluent in English (Written, Spoken) is required
• Fluent in Cantonese or French is an asset
• Ability to work in a team environment and to troubleshoot across various areas & departments in high pressure situations
